Local Roots Food Tours Partners with Sac Brew Bike

We are thrilled to announce a brand new culinary tour thru Local Roots Food Tours.  Different from a walking tour, we are excited to join hands with another local Sacramento business; Sac Brew Bike and provide not only a culinary adventure in Sacramento but a biking adventure as well!  For the last 3 years we have been offering nothing but walking tours in Sacramento and we wanted to offer something different still based around fresh and local food for our wonderful customers.  After some brainstorming and like-minded ideas between the two tour company owners;  our new tour Pedal to Plate Culinary Bike Tour has been born.

We have developed a tour that will not only be delicious at every one of our 5 stops but entertaining on Sac Brew’s uni-bike that will be your mode of transportation.  Sac Brew Bike is a new tour company in Sacramento.  They partner with Sacramento’s best local tasting establishments to provide the ultimate brewpub experience according to co-owner Chris Ferren-Cirino.  Sac Brew Bike provides the driver while guests help pedal and enjoy the sights and sounds of Sacramento in-between pubs.  The bike averages about 5 mph, but has been known to top out at a hair-blowing 7 mph if the group really gets their crank on.  There are 15 bicycle seats, but only 10 of them have pedal cranks.  Two of the seats are above the wheel and aren’t equipped with pedals. There is also a 3-seat back bench designed specifically for those who want to relax or are physically incapable of the rigors of pedaling.

Pedal to Plate Culinary Bike Tour will be taking participants on a culinary journey thru a scenic area of Midtown, stopping at 5 different establishments where their main focus is on farm to fork ingredients.  One of Local Roots Food Tours locally trained culinary concierge will be guiding the tour while a Sac Brew Bike driver will steer the way! Three of the stops will be a food and libations pairing, the remaining stops will have a tasting portion as well as the opportunity to shop for locally produced products. There will be enough food for a light dinner. Don’t forget your shopping bags!  Our Pedal to Plate Culinary Bike Tour is a 3 hour tour and is offered every Thursday at 6:00pm.  There is a maximum capacity of 15 for this culinary bike tour.  Tickets are $60 per person and include all food, drinks, taxes and transportation. Sunday afternoons will be added soon!

What Folks are Saying!

In looking for an alternative for a traditional bridal shower, I came upon the website for Local Roots and the Food Tours they provided, and decided this would be a perfect way to connect and celebrate the bride-to-be. Lisa was more than accommodating for our smallish private group, making the day relaxing and enjoyable, even providing fun questions geared toward the bride/wedding with available door prizes! Our tour guides, Lisa and Nate, and the tour itself not only met, but exceeded our expectations, leaving us all craving more and wanting to try out the other food tour available in Sacramento! Thank you again, Lisa, for such a wonderful time.
